Review: The Ides of April
The Ides of April by Lindsey Davis
Such joy to find that Lindsey Davis has not stopped writing! Flavia Albia (Falco’s adopted daughter) has taken over the family business as an informer.
It’s refreshing to read about Rome through the eyes of a young woman. It feels as if the author - although she had the voice of Falco down pat - is even more capable when writing from the point of view of a woman: how novel ;-)
This first book introduces many new characters, but Flavia is truly its heroine: she is a well-rounded character and I enjoy reading about her adventures, struggles and victories!
