Recently I started re-reading the Marcus Didius Falco series written by Lindsey Davis. I’ve worked my way back up to the novel Time to Depart 1, and I am enjoying the books as much I ever have! This week, as I am reading the book, I decided to check to see if perhaps a new Davis’ novel has come out. Totally in luck, yes! A new book in her new series!
In the past few years, I have started reading more and more books set towards the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20thcentury. Most of the books have an element of mystery or are blatant mystery novels, other are purely historic in their core. The idea of travelling back in time is always interesting and it brings forth enough flights of fancy, but then reality sweeps in: I am a woman.
Part of preparing for my trip to Vienna (creating a map of the places to visit was one), I read up on activities in Vienna. The city has a wonderfully informative website Wien Info, and they have a great number of posts not only on the well-known sites, but also a comprehensible calendar on all events. I downloaded their events program for the months of July and August, and the fun began!
I can’t really remember when I bought my first In Death book. I do remember I bought it at the American Book Center in the Hague. I also know exactly which title I bought: Witness in Death. The blurb of the book caught my attention, it mentioned an exciting story with a blossoming love story and a murder at the theater. Bought the book, walked around the corner, went into a KFC’s and after ordering I started to read the book.
