Remember when I posted last year that I had started a larger project, a squirrel mandala design? I have a new one: pickled veggies! I started this project in April 2021, as yet another way to stay away from the sheer boredom that the corona pandemic creates. Finally finished! Professionally framed
The squirrel pattern is such a favorite of mine that I purchased two more from the same designer: a turtle and a manta ray. While the Summer weather kept me mostly outside hanging out with my neighbors, the turtle and manta ray embroidery were slowly taking shape. Of course, later towards the end of Summer, they were joined by the squirrel! Turtle Manta Ray Squirrel
Birds, flowers, butterflies!
And suddenly we were at the beginning of a pandemic. Nowhere to go, just stay at home, work from home, eat at home, do everything at home. While browsing etsy, I found some really cool design styles and this little fellow stole my heart. You can find the design here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/608485517/mandala-squirrel-p486-embroidery-cross This was certainly a larger project than I had ever started before. I had to find some alternative colors, because I did not yet have all the floss colors from this pattern, but while I was working on this squirrel, I fell in love with the wonderful colors and the lovely pattern.
October 2019, my fourth trip to Vienna. Of course on day 2 I was suffering from a horrendously bad cold, so I had time to do some cross stitching in between sneezing my brain out.
I think these Christmas trees are the first cross stitch pattern I ever purchased on etsy.com.1 In 2018, I decided it was a good idea to create my own Christmas cards again. I think the last time I did was at my parents when I was about 10 years old ;-) This wonderful design is by Climbing Goat Designs and you can find it here on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/500108939/christmas-tree-cross-stitch-pattern I have purchased many more since then, most often from a small set of designers.
