Keukenhof in May

Visiting the Keukenhof in Lisse in springtime started as a day trip with two friends from Germany in 2008. Now, I return each year (sometimes alone, sometimes with friends) and each time the tulips still enchant me. Of course, the combination of these glorious flowers together with artificial landscaping makes for great photo opportunities.

By now, I start to recognize some of the varieties on offer and I have to say, it does feel as if someone has played a trick, because some tulips seem to have displayed an incorrect name sign.

White Beauty

Really? White beauty?

And these two, both Dynasty triumph tulips?

And of course, the single late tulip Sunshine Club:

Sunshine Club

Special mention this year goes to the Boston tulip: strong and sturdy, like its city namesake!
