GBBO, a new season

Once again I find that I’m hooked on the latest season of the BBC’s Great British Bake Off. The first few episodes are harmless: the recipes are interesting and the bakers feel enough confidence to get through to the next episode. But then, one by one, a baker has to leave. The difficulty of the recipes increases (of course, there’d be no fun if they weren’t!) and the challenges facing the bakers become quite nerve wracking, especially for the viewers. Presenters Mel and Sue are wonderful, and I think we’ve all fallen in love with Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.

On twitter great new #GBBO hashtags appear. I’m quite enjoying the #BakeOffInnuendo: with perennial favorite “soggy bottom” as a great starter.

Previous #GBBO finalists are joining the fun on twitter, trading barbs and fueling the #BakeOffInnuendoes as they watch.

Last year I posted how this show has grabbed my attention, even though I have no interest in baking whatsover, and this year has only increased my interest.

Who do I want to see as finalist?

It’s hard to say, there are still seven people left. However, I’d like to see Brendan and Cathryn go all the way.
